not ready until 1900
Even if this 'parable' has been on my todo list as the starting point in the 'sequence' for near enough a decade.
And indeed it is those who sadly haven't been through the FULL nature 'cure' / obstacle course / defenestration (the real version of how to have your ego dug out of your chest with a JCB and run over in front of you to make the point) / etc., that have caused one to be a decade late.
Righty ho now i have a wonderful decade long chronicle of so many lovely nature pictures clips and audio recordings IN nature - the real version which is 10ish per sq km on average over a large area, observing the "bird" life, chasing it sometimes but at a safe distance, and all sorts of REAL beauty and rugged beauty nature stuff. SO many gorgeous vistas and miscellaneous nature-rich days infact too many for one's own good... especially when one realises that much of the rest of this land, isn't.
But one very deep and meaningful 'parable', in an action, set me off Boxing Day 2015, in such a good mood... or better put, in a real mood - feet on the ground even 'grounded as the faeries may say, certainly more "centred" than for some years... even if that is far too much a thing of the 'self' as "nature" isn't, and i can say that as I've probably lived innit and loved being innit and loved innit way more than even the average rural dweller... and have read ALL the right books from Maybe's scam one all the way back to Walden, and of course the Jenny come lately's - they all seem to be, such as H is for Hawk or as i prefer to think of it H is for Having a Moan at a Routine Life Event, and get paid well to do so...
I know that of all my so many events in nature, and so many long dull days one has to always find 'bounce' so as to get through a life in nature - working in it, too.... this one was the one above all is the one that effected me body mind and mind body and soul...
It should be a parable in just a few lines but to attempt to at least bring the 'event' to life, here is some film and a few photos from autumn and winter 2015 ( a 'big' but ultimately sad year for me otherwise; this one event wasn't sad - but would have i well know sucked the very life out of many)
So.... over many years - twenty i guess, having first one ferret then many others via sex which animals love to have (and Americans can't even use as a word in public why they invented 'gender' ) and ONLY for my daughter but also over the years so many other children who would visit us FOR the ferrets, there have been various arrangements for their accommodation.
The final and in fact best of all was merely one quite small old post box in a large pen with all sorts of play-toys and ramps. This in and of itself is a minor parable in that if you knew the personality of ferrets you would assume that a medium sized cage - say a meter square, with a sleeping area in a corner, and as one does with ferrets regular forays out into the house or some other larger exercise space, would cause them to be most zenned. A not zenned ferret can get a bit nippy. They have complex emotions in fact and can go months pretending to not be nippy and then one day turn on you - or your finger.
The first time we built a large (multi-storey) pen
https://www.wonkyquantum.com/ - one of my first performatative meditative zenart projects that's far more interesting than the 100s of hours of film of nothing apparently happening as once the last iteration was built i noticed that the robin would come and pinch the ferrets' food ...however..it almost seemed to have a sixth sense as to whether or not the ferrets were up and awake and only come when they were fast asleep and the coast was clear... as their sleeping place was quite tightly closed off by them - hay built around them, it couldnt be through watching from afar; it almost seemed something magical. SO i just decided to film the setup for hours on end and see if anything could be captured that was fun...
Please don't dwell there - you could be there for weeks, but not that i care, or think like that, there is no viewer advantage to me, Who knows there may one day be advantage here at ralphschism youtube below.
Pied Piper operation back in action after five years down time..in the abyss..
