Thing is - the worst thing for any "human" is to be told one of two things.

1. that they are raised in some 'paradise' like the so druggy mad  river-polluting horrid hay-on-Wye faketown, that imports so called culture now and again and all is well.... when very few of the effnix ever read a book... 

i.e. for kids especially to be given a false version of their 'environment'

and number twos..(all i CARE about as 30 years ago i saw through UK forever). that one is from some formerly hell hole, and thus should be treated with fake kid-gloves, even if she saw on her telly how badly we treat our kids and SAID SO!  and the whole of society theirs and ours, conspires in the biggest con of all that  things are far sweeter   elsewhere.(here) . where there is a bit more bling ...

(i must find that Guardian review of the novel about Poles on fruit farms  twenty ish years ago that made out that all Poles are such sweet innocent sweeties when all you needed to do was watch how they would spit at gypsies begging in the streets of Warsaw 1997 to know it was a tad wishful thinking, and never mind that innate cultural behaviour - said gypsies famously relocating around 20 years ago to Berlin as it was far safer.... but its the way that novel painted them all as such sweeties and finding such a  sweet society  that treated them with such sweet undertstanding.... i hear  a recent debate about is 'woke' the right word to use, when in fact wuss is the correct one long ago i figured  )
